PREP ROUNDUP: Wheeling Park Golf Wins Callaway Event

WHEELING-- Wheeling Park shot a 234 as a team to claim first place in the Callaway Junior Tour High School Series at the Jones Course on Monday.

Leading the charge for the Patriots was senior Noah Seivertson, who earned co-medalist honors with a 75.

Gavin Goodrich added a 79 and Owen Leary carded an 80 for Park.

Brooke's Ryan Bilby also turned in a 75 for co-medalist honors.

Wheeling Central sophomore Justin Doerr was third at 76 and Linsly's Dylan Dunlevy fired a 78. The Cadets finished fourth as a team.

St. Clairsville wins at BecWood

RAYLAND -- St. Clairsville turned in a 180 to take down Monroe Central, Martins Ferry, Union Local and Magnolia.

Martins Ferry senior Luke Krol finished with a round of 40 for medalist honors. St. Clairsville's Saul Crist and UL's Beezer Porter were runner-up medalist and a shot back.

Harrison Central 188, Toronto 201

CADIZ -- Huskies senior Sam Santille was the medalist with a round of 42 to lead Harrison Central to a victory over Toronto. Toronto was led by Hunter Keenan's 44.

Steubenville Catholic 171, Weir 243

STEUBENVILLE -- Cole Tegano was the medalist with a 33 as he paced Steubenville Catholic to a victory over Weir. Brenda Schaefer was also solid for the Crusaders as he turned in a 39.

For the Red Riders, Jake Bostaph led with a 48.

VOLLEYBALL

Shadyside d. Bellaire

25-10, 25-20, 25-8

BELLAIRE -- Gentry Brown, tallied nine kills, four aces and 10 digs as Shadyside opened the season with a sweep of Bellaire.

The Big Reds were led on the stat sheet by Jayden Lowe's three kills and seven digs.

Barnesville d. Bridgeport

25-12, 25-10, 25-18

BARNESVILLE -- Rylee Stephens and Darby Jones both tallied 12 kills as Barnesville swept Bridgeport.

Keirsten Adams added 11 for kills for the Shamrocks while Stephens also had seven aces.

The Bulldogs received six points, an ace and four digs from Kaylee Bain.

Creek d. Buckeye Local

25-14, 25-6, 25-7

CONNORVILLE -- Taylor Jones led with four kills, a pair of blocks, three digs and three aces to help Indian Creek sweep Buckeye Local.

The Panthers were led by Landyn Walker, who had two aces and three kills.

Wellsville d. Edison

25-13, 25-12, 25-15

WELLSVILLE -- Gracie Phillips tallied eight points and 13 digs, but Edison was swept by Wellsville.
