PREP ROUNDUP: Conotton Valley Crushes Steubenville Catholic

STEUBENVILLE — Maddox Walter, a hard-running senior, led Conotton Valley (2-1) with 225 yards and three scores as the Rockets defeated Steubenville Catholic, 34-13 on Thursday.

Isaiah Mullins paced the Crusaders with 136 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Ryan Gorman found tight end Andrew Dorsey for a 29-yard touchdown.

Beaver Local 49, Indian Creek 0

LISBON — Beaver Local scored 28 points in the first quarter en route to a victory over Indian Creek. Seven players scored a touchdown for the Beavers.

Harrison edges JM

CADIZ — Harrison Central edged John Marshall in a prep golf match Thursday afternoon by two shots.

The Monarchs’ Mason Orndorff finished with a round of 41, which was good enough for medalist honors.

Buckeye Local tops Edison

RAYLAND — The Panthers posted a solid 183, which was 66 strokes better than Edison.

The Panthers were led by medalist Aiden Polanski, who shot a 44.

Wheeling Central 346, Toronto 358

WHEELING — Justin Doerr earned medalist honors as he turned in a 73 to pace Wheeling Central to a victory over Toronto.

Hunter Keenan tallied a team-low for the Red Knights (81).

Linsly 311, Fort Frye 330

WHEELING — Dylan Dunlevy and Ryan Dembiczak both shot a 75 to earn co-medalist honors as Linsly beat Fort Frye.

Bilby earns medalist honors in quad

NEW CUMBERLAND — Brooke’s Ryan Bilby was the medalist, while Beaver Local won overall during a quad match along with Weir and Oak Glen at Woodview

Bilby finished with a 39.

VOLLEYBALL

Wheeling Park d. Parkersburg 25-17, 19-25, 25-17, 25-23

WHEELING — Rachel Simon 13 Kills, 16 Digs and three blocks as Wheeling Park defeated Parkersburg.

Ally Franko was also solid with 12 kills and nine digs while Anya Ritz had 31 Assists, four kills and eight digs and four aces.

Union Local d. Shenandoah, 25-4, 25-7, 25-20

MORRISTOWN — Union Local stayed perfect on the season, posting a sweep of Shenandoah.

Sophomore Torre Kildow led the Jets once again with 17 kills, 11 assists and 12 digs.

St. C. d. Harrison 25-20, 27-25, 25-18

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — St. Clairsville picked up a much-needed victory, sweeping Harrison Central.

The Devils were led by Alexis Thoburn’s 18 kills and 12 digs.

Monroe d. Bridgeport 25-10, 25-14, 25-11

BRIDGEPORT — Monroe Central bounced back from its first loss of the season to sweep the Bulldogs.

The Seminoles were led by Trista Morris, who had five kills and nine digs.

Magnolia d. River 25-15, 25-10, 25-7

NEW MARTINSVILLE — Victoria Hood supplied eight points, five aces and five kills as Magnolia downed River in straight sets.

Hannah Raper had three kills, three assists and five digs.

Steubenville d. Weir 25-18, 25-22, 25-15

WEIRTON — Anna Taylor led Steubenville with eight points, six aces, 11 kills and three blocks in a victory over Weir.

For the Red Riders, Leah Maley had five aces and three kills.

Cameron drop three in quad

CAMERON — Audrey Bock had three aces and seven aces, but Cameron dropped all of its games in a quad to Linsly, Tyler Consolidated and Hundred.

MOUNDSVILLE — Six different players scored a goal as John Marshall defeated Tyler Consolidated.

Cooper Curto led the way for the Monarchs with two goals. Also scoring were Hari Kumar, Jackson Thomas, Hayden Daniela, Oliver Miller and Jason Schane.
