3 min read

GIRLS

Brooke 1, Weir 0

WEIRTON -- The players and coaches of the Weir girls soccer team returned to Jimmy Carey Stadium with a gamut of emotions.

Wednesday's game against rival Brooke was Weir's first home game since the tragic deaths of sophomore soccer player Madison Crowe and her mother Melissa Rowland this past Thursday.

Playing with heavy hearts, the Red Riders gave all they had, however, it was not enough to come out on the winning end. The Bruins scored the game's lone goal just before the midway point of the second half and carried it all the way for a 1-0 victory

Madison Platt tallied the lone goal with 22:39 remaining to be played off of an assist by Brooke Ohler.

Franki Neff finished the game with three saves in goal for the Bruins. Alexis Adams made three saves in goal for Weir.
