Buckeye Local Sweeps Tri-Meet
RAYLAND — Brian Palmer Jr. (152, 160) and teammate Alexio Morales (220) each won a pair of matches on Saturday by fall as Buckeye Local defeated both River (32-10) and Columbiana (36-22) in prep wrestling action.
Columbiana downed River in their match 34-12. The Pilots were led by Chris Heavener (120) who won both of his matches (fall and forfeit).

Ferry Boys and Girls Hit the Pool
MARTINS FERRY — In girls action, Gia Starkey won both the 100 (1:09.59) and the backstroke (1:19.01) and teammate Ashlyn Williams took top honors in the butterfly (1:28.52) and the breaststroke (1:29.71) to lead Martins Ferry.
On the boys’ side, the Purple Riders were led by Tristen Blatt’s victories in the 200 (2:14.29) and the backstroke (1:10.48).

Edison 50, Toronto 46
TORONTO — The Edison girls team got a big win against Toronto. The Wildcats were led by Olivia Huff with another dominating performance of 16 points. Savanna Ankrom and Pam Johnson each poured in 11 to help lift the Wildcats.
