PREP ROUNDUP: Indian Creek Downs East Liverpool in Girls Basketball

WINTERSVILLE -- The Indian Creek girls basketball team's Big 3 paced the squad to a decisive 68-22 victory over East Liverpool on Thursday.

Kylie Kiger produced a game-high 21 points and eight assists. Taylor Jones nearly had a triple-double, finishing with 20 points, 14 rebounds and eight steals. Makenzie Taylor, who missed most of the Redskins' season opener after sustaining concussion-like symptoms, tallied 11 points. Also for Creek, Hailey Clark added eight points and six steals.

Assistant Ron Tweedy led the Redskins, as head coach Steve Eft is in quarantine due to COVID-related issues.

For the Potters, Mikayla Reed collected 10 points. Alessandra Ferrazzano and Gabrielle Green each scored four.

Creek (2-0) travels to Shadyside on Saturday.

River 56, Bellaire 47

HANNIBAL -- Three River players scored in double figures as it secured a victory over Bellaire.

Rylee Knight paced the Pilots (1-1) with 18 points while Kylie Piatt scored 11. Kelsey Harlan rounded out the double digit scorers with 10.

Jayden Lowe led the way for the Big Reds with a game-high 20 points.

Buckeye Local 51, Edison 47

RAYLAND -- Emily Valuska scored 10 points as Buckeye Local took down Edison. Megan Valuska secured nine points for the Panthers.

For the Wildcats, Savanna Ankrom scored 15 points while Alysea Fiedorczyk had 13.

Martins Ferry 75, St. Clairsville 58

ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Allarah Jones and Maria Clark combined for 50 points as Martins Ferry secured a victory over St. Clairsville. Jones secured a game-high 30 points to pace the Purple Riders while Clark compiled 20.

The Red Devils had four of double-digit scorers.

Shae Brookover tallied 18 points while Alexis Thoburn chipped in 12. Both Megan Malin and Annie Stroud contributed 10 points.

Steubenville 54, Cambridge 41

CAMBRIDGE -- Makayla Abram's 22-point effort lifted the Big Red girls basketball team to a victory over Cambridge.

Also for Big Red (2-0), Lexi Martin had 11 points, Kylie Maxwell nine and Aubrey Thompson eight.

For Cambridge, McKinzi Lingott led with 11.

Caldwell 68, Barnesville 49

CALDWELL -- Rylee Stephens scored 15 points while Blayne Carpenter netted 13, but Barnesville fell to Caldwell.

Cayton Secrest supplied a game-high 22 points for Caldwell.

BOYS

Bridgeport 69, Monroe Central 59

BRIDGEPORT -- Freshman Quinton Burlenski had the hot hand early as he scored seven points in each of the first two quarters and finished with a game-best 22 as Bridgeport defeated Monroe Central. He also pulled down game honors with 11 rebounds.

Dylan Gregorcic came off the bench to tally 14 points for the Bulldogs while Riese O'Kernick had 12 and Adam Sommer scored 10.

Malachi Rose-Burton and Dillon Lincoln each had 13 points for the Seminoles (0-1). Collin Kroll added nine off the bench while Austen Hogue had eight.
