MEC Announces Basketball Schedule Updates

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Friday a number of adjustments to its men’s and women’s basketball schedules due to COVID-19 protocols.

Included in those adjustments were the postponements of Saturday’s West Liberty’s men’s game along with both the Wheeling University men and women.

The No. 4 ranked Hilltoppers were slated to take on undefeated Glenville State while both Cardinal teams were scheduled to host Concord.

The Wheeling University men’s games against Frostburg State (Jan. 25) and Charleston (Jan. 27) have also been postponed.

The conference will work with both institutions to pursue rescheduling opportunities.

Saturday’s women’s game between West Liberty and Glenville State will still be played. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. inside the ASRC. In accordance with MEC protocols, no fans will be permitted inside the arena.

Here’s a complete list of the MEC’s basketball schedule adjustments announced on Friday:

MEN’S BASKETBALL

∫ The Wheeling vs. Concord game scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.

∫ Alderson Broaddus will play at Concord on 2 p.m. Saturday.

∫ The Glenville State vs. West Liberty game scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.

∫ The Wheeling vs. Frostburg State scheduled for Monday, Jan. 25, has been postponed.

∫ The Wheeling vs. Charleston game scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 27, has been postponed.

∫ The Glenville State vs. Frostburg State game scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 27, has been postponed.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

∫ The Wheeling vs. Concord game scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.
