St. Clairsville Downs River, 68-57

ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- Ryan McCort and Avery Henry each poured in 19 points, followed by teammate Drew Sefsick's 18 points as St. Clairsville took Down River 68-57 on Friday night.

Brody Lollathin piloted River with 19 points, while Ty Long added 15 and Kabel Isaly delivered 13.

Martins Ferry 65

MARTINS FERRY -- Barnesville must have learned from its loss to Union Local last week when it blew a fourth quarter lead.

Friday night inside Tolbert Gymnasium, the Shamrocks stormed from behind to nip Martins Ferry, 67-65, in boys' high school basketball action. The winners used a 23-9 scoring advantage in the final chapter for the win.

Kason Powell gunned in a game-best 32 points for Barnesville. He finished with half-a-dozen treys. Jake Edwards added a dozen and Haiden Skinner went for 10.

Logan Smith paced the Purple Riders with 25 lightings.

Jaizen Miles added 13 and Peyton Hores a dozen.

Monroe Central 68

WOODSFIELD -- Jett Lori (25) and Bede Lori (24) combined for 49 points as the Redskins outgunned the Seminoles. Jett Lori knocked down seven three-pointers.

Auston Hogue took game scoring honors with 26 for Monroe Central (12-5). Dillon Lincoln added 15 while Malachi Rose-Burton and Garet Cramer each had 11.

GIRLS

River 53, Bellaire 48

BELLAIRE -- The invading Pilots used a 22-2 scoring advantage in the second quarter to overcome an early deficit en route to a big road win.

Hannah Raper finished with a game-best 19 points, which included a quartet of treys. Kylie Piatt added 11 and Kelsey Harlan had eight.

Allie Ault paced the Big Reds with 14. Jenna Miller and Jayden Lowe each had nine.

SHADYSIDE -- Bailee Wach fired in a game-high 27 points as the Tigers doubled up the visiting Cougars.
