South Edges Linsly Boys in OT

WHEELING -- Caleb Murray scored a team-high 15 points but Linsly fell 61-59 to visiting Parkersburg South in overtime on Tuesday.

Max Washington and Denali Jackson each tallied 12 points and Nathan Coleman added 11 for the Cadets.

Clay-Battelle 59, Cameron 56

BLACKSVILLE -- Clay Battelle's Gage Statler hit a 3-pointer with seven seconds remaining which proved to be the game-winner as Clay-Battelle defeated Cameron.

The Dragons, who were down by as many as 17 points, had a good look before the buzzer, but the shot rimmed out.

Trevor Beresford paced Cameron with 20 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and three assists.

Madonna 66, Paden City 51

WEIRTON -- Evan Bone turned in 18 points and Madonna defeated Paden City.

Joel Moore paced the Wildcats with 23 points and Ty Cain added 15.

Hundred 52, Heritage Christian 29

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- Christian Fluharty bucketed 14 points and recorded seven steals to lead Hundred past Heritage Christian.

Dylan Ray turned in 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Hornets and Bobby Hostutler added 12 points and 22 rebounds to complete the double-double.

GIRLS

Cameron 58, Oak Glen 38

CAMERON -- Ashlyn Van Tassell scored 22 points and Lili Neely added 21 as Cameron downed Oak Glen.

Reece Enochs paced the Golden Bears with 10 points.

Madonna 48, Paden City 11

WEIRTON -- Madonna held Paden City to two points in the first three quarters and rolled to a victory.

Ravyn Fulks netted 10 of the Wildcats' 11 points.

BASEBALL

Barnesville 12, Union Local 2

BARNESVILLE -- The Shamrocks made it two wins in as many outings, scoring a rout of rival Union Local under the lights inside Memorial Park.

Gavin Carpenter was impressive on the bump with 10 strikeouts and two walks in earning the mound win.

Dover 11, St. Clairsville 3

ST. CLAIRSVILLE -- The invading Tornadoes pushed three runs across in the second and went on to post a victory against the Red Devils (1-1).

The Red Devils were led at the plate by senior Tyler Tonkovich, who had a triple, single and two RBI. Logan Shields and Jaren Starks each had two singles.

Indian Creek 7, Beaver Local 6

EAST LIVERPOOL --Justice Morris delivered a game-winning sac-fly in the top of the seventh to give Indian Creek the win over Beaver Local.

Edison 3, Steubenville 2

RICHMOND -- Edison smacked eight hits, scored two runs in the second and another in the fifth to take down Steubenville.

WOODSFIELD -- Weston Swallow smacked a two-run single as Monroe Central (2-1) walked off a winner.

WHEELING -- The Linsly boys swim team completed an undefeated season by defeating Wheeling Central and Oak Glen.

Frederico Bianchi-Colloca, Joao Lima, Shane McCready and Asier Doval broke the pool record in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.60.

McCready, Doval and Colloca-Bianchi also won two individual events. McCready won the 200 freestyle (1:59.56) and 100 backstroke (55.88) while Doval claimed gold in the 200 IM (2:11.22) and 100 freestyle (50.24). Colloca-Bianchi won the 50 freestyle (23.58) and 100 backstroke (55.88).

On the girls side, Liv Torner won two individual titles for the Cadets in the 200 IM (2:19.43) and 100 butterfly (1:05.64).

For the Maroon Knights, Lauren Garan touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle (27.38) and 100 freestyle (1:02.39).

WELLSBURG -- Vernoica Mann paced the Brooke girls with a victory in the 50 freestyle (26.77) and 500 freestyle (5:45.07).

For the Red Riders, Sarah Burskey won the 200 freestyle (2:34.71) and 100 breaststroke (1:27.57).

On the boys side, Ryan Speirs claimed two individual titles for Weir winning the 200 freestyle (2:08.77) and 100 backstroke (1:04.52).
