Ohio Coaching Staff Announced For OVAC Rudy Mumley All-Star Football Game

MARTINS FERRY -- With the 75th annual OVAC Rudy Mumley All-Star Football Game a little more than three weeks away, Ohio head coach Eric Huck, who represents Fort Frye, has announced his coaching staff.

Slated to join Huck at Bethany College when camp for the July 24th game opens on July 18, will be Josh Seagraves, Kevin Welsh, Scott Hart, Chad Ross and Kyle Huck.

They also comprise Huck's coaching staff with the Cadets, who are coming off a trip to the Division VI state semifinals and an OVAC Class 3A title in 2020.

"These guys have been with me for quite a while," Huck said. "The biggest thing is the trust I have in them because they all know their positions very well and they coach their kids very well."

Seagraves works with the offensive and defensive lines. Welsh is the offensive coordinator and works with the running backs and safeties.Hart coaches the inside linebackers and offensive line. Ross is the defensive coordinator and works with the lines and Kyle Huck is with the receivers and linebackers.

Here's a look at the Ohio coaching staff:

∫ ERIC HUCK, Fort Frye -- The Cadets have had quite the run of success since this Fort Frye and Ohio State University product took the reins.

Huck completed his 13th season as the head coach by winning his second regional championship before falling in the state semifinals.

The Cadets finished an undefeated regular season for the third straight season and fifth time under Huck's watch.

Huck's teams have won the last three OVAC Class 3A titles, won five Pioneer Valley Conference crowns and a regional title in 2018.

His fine seasons haven't gone unnoticed. He was named OVAC Coach of the Year in 2019 and three times earned PVC Coach of the Year.

Along with football, Huck has coaching experience in basketball and baseball.

Eric and his wife, Joel, have four children, Brendan, Lexie, Camryn and Jantzyn.

JOSH SEAGRAVES, Fort Frye -- This Cadet assistant has been working with Huck for the last four seasons and owns seven seasons of football coaching experience.

Seagraves also coaches wrestling.

Seagraves is a graduate of Tri-County North High School and Lee University.

Josh and his wife, Rebecca, have two children -- Enoch and Bristol.

KEVIN WELSH, Fort Frye -- This long-time assistant coach has spent the last three seasons working with the Cadets.

All told, Welsh has 41 years of football coaching experience, including 34 as an assistant. He's made coaching stops at Barnesville, Caldwell, Frontier, Shenandoah, Warren, Reedsville Eastern, River, Parkersburg and Marietta College.

Along with football, Welsh also has coaching experience in basketball, baseball and track.

Welsh was a player in the 1973 OVAC All-Star Football Game, representing Barnesville. He then attended Bethany College and Ohio University.

Kevin and his his wife, Terri, have four sons -- Patrick, Kial, Chase and Collin.

SCOTT HART, Fort Frye -- This long-time assistant has been a key member of the Cadets staff basically during Huck's entire tenure.

Hart graduated from Fort Frye and Ohio State University.

Scott and his wife, Linda, have three children, Natalie, Kate and Dylan, who is a member of the Ohio All-Star roster.

CHAD ROSS, Fort Frye -- One of the more tenured coaches on the staff, Ross has 22 years of coaching experience.

Of those years, the last six have come with the Cadets. He's also spent times at his alma mater, Crooksville, Waterford and Parkersburg.

Along with his football duties, Ross is also a member of the Fort Frye girls basketball staff and has previously worked with the boys basketball and track teams.

After high school, Ross attended Marietta College and completed his post-graduate degree at Muskingum.

Chad and his wife, Krista, have three children -- Karlee, Khloee and Braxton.

KYLE HUCK, Fort Frye -- This Cadets assistant has been involved at his alma mater for 13 years and has has five years of experience as an assistant coach.

Huck, who graduated from Marietta College, has been a part of three OVAC, PVC and two regional titles as well as four undefeated regular seasons.

Kyle and his wife, Kristin, have two children -- Colin and Mya.
