Central Lacrosse Downs Buckhannon-Upshur
WHEELING — The Wheeling Central lacrosse team defeated Buckhannon-Upshur 12-5 at the 16th Street Field Saturday.
John Emmerth and Braxton Anderson led the Knights with six points apiece. Emmerth found the back of the net five times and assisted on another while Anderson supplied three goals and three helpers.
Ethan Taylor, Parker Watkins and Matthew Maroney each scored a goal and had two assists, T. Ryncarz also found the back of the net on a goal.
Deante Suggs logged eight saves in net for the Knights and Kelly Reidel stopped two BU shots.

Linsly 15, Beallsville 0
Fort Frye 16, Linsly 8
WHEELING — The Cadets split a doubleheader Saturday, defeating Beallsville 15-0 in four innings and later falling to Fort Frye 16-8.
Against Beallsville, Baeliegh Burwell got the win in the circle while also supplying two RBI on offense. Gia Recrosio also drove in two runs while Alayna Cook hit a double.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL
W.Va. Wesleyan 11-4, West Liberty 3-1
INSTITUTE — The Cardinals were swept on the road in MEC play Sunday. West Virginia Wesleyan took game one 11-3 and game two 4-1.
Mia Smallwood collected two hits in game one with an RBI and a walk. Anna Florczak and Natalie Stoner also drove in runs.
Randi Holder took the loss, allowing seven runs in three innings in the circle.
Abby Bumbico started game two and allowed four runs in 2 2/3 innings. She was relieved by Madison Macy, who tossed 3 1/3 clean innings.
Florczak plated Wheeling’s lone run with a single in the fourth inning.
