Central Lacrosse Rolls

WHEELING — Ethan Taylor netted five goals and John Emmerth garnered four as Wheeling Central pounded Preston County 15-0 on Friday.

Parker Watkins scored twice for the Maroon Knights, while Matthew Maroney, Braxton Anderson, Cole O’Neil and Brady Kerr each added one goal.

Anderson dished out five assists, while Watkins handed out two and Emmerth and Taylor each added one. Deante Suggs only needed two saves to earn the win and Haji Marin and Thomas Komorowski secured seven and two face-offs.

BASEBALL

Barnesville 3, Wheeling Central 1

BARNESVILLE — The Shamrocks remained undefeated with their win against the visiting Maroon Knights Friday at Memorial Park.

Gavin Carpenter went the distance on the mound, striking out six, walking one and scattering four hits. He also had an RBI.

Logan Shepherd drove in a run with two singles. Spencer Bliss doubled in another.

Greenbrier East 9, John Marshall 7

GLEN DALE — Ethan Neely homered, singled and drove in two but John Marshall fell to Greenbrier East.

Jacob Coffield delivered a hit and two RBI for the Monarchs, while Grant Neiswonger drove in a pair and Ben McCardle doubled.

Buckeye Trail 10, Bridgeport 1

OLD WASHINGTON — Ciaran Flanagan singled and doubled to provide the Bulldogs only run of the game.

SOFTBALL

Harrison Central 16, St. Clairsville 4

CADIZ — The Huskies (7-2) scored all of their runs on just two hits as they took advantage of 13 base-on-balls and half-a-dozen errors by the visiting Red Devils.

Sarah Touville had a three-run triple and Alaina Williams added a two-run single. Lizzie Clelland had two RBI while Maddy Butler, Jenna Young, Tristen Kovarik, Isabella Yeager and Kaylee Banal all had one run batted in.

Emily Dubinsky had a single, double and three RBI for St. Clairsville. Makenna Moran drove in a run with a single and double.

Kovarik logged three strikeouts, walked a pair and gave up seven hits.
