Isinghood, McCort, Beresford, Reasbeck Captain 55th All-Valley Boys’ Basketball Team

Alex Isinghood
Brooke, Captain
One half of the Bruins’ dynamic senior duo, Isinghood capped off his stellar prep career with a great final season. Isinghood averaged 20.4 points and eight rebounds per game this season. He topped 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in his career. The big man earned second-team All-State and first-team All-OVAC honors for his efforts.
Brooke featured one of the deadliest duos in the valley this season with Isinghood and fellow All-Valley first-teamer Cole Sperlazza. They combined to average 39.9 points per game this season.

Ryan McCort
St. Clairsville, Captain
McCort followed up a standout junior season with an even more impressive senior campaign. He led the area in scoring, racking up an average of 22.6 points per game.
The Red Devil shot 83.3% from the foul line and put through 53 triples while also averaging five rebounds per game.
He nabbed basically every post-season accolade, being named third team All-Ohio, first team All-Eastern District, District 12, OVAC and Buckeye 8.
McCort teamed with Red Devil center Avery Henry to average a combined 39.6 points per game.
Hayden Cassidy
Harrison Central
An absolute sharpshooter for the Huskies, Cassidy put through 60 treys this season.
In the process, Cassidy averaged 18 points per game for coach Justin Clifford.
His efforts earned him several honors following the season, including first team All-Buckeye 8, first team All-OVAC and special mention All-Ohio.
Aiden Davis
Wheeling Park
Davis is the first freshman boy to ever start for Wheeling Park, according to coach Mike Jebbia, and he made the most of it.
The youngster was deadly from long range, draining 62 3-pointers while averaging 15.1 points and 3.7 assists per game.
The first-year point guard also ran the Patriots’ offense. The heavy workload earned him All-State honorable mention honors.
Avery Henry
St. Clairsville
Perhaps the biggest match-up nightmare in the entire Ohio Valley, the 6-7 Henry surely gave opposing big men nightmares this season.
The Ohio State football signee averaged nearly 17 points per game while pulling down an averaged 12 boards every night.
His myriad of awards includes All-OVAC, All-Buckeye 8 and honorable mention All-Ohio.
Jontae Howard
Oak Glen
The Ohio Valley was flush with talented centers this season and Howard is no exception.
Aside from putting on a show in the OVAC All-Star Game, Howard averaged 14.1 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks per game for the Golden Bears this season.
He earned All-State honorable mention and first-team All-OVAC accolades.
Jace Madzia
Harrison Central
This junior developed into one of the more versatile players on the area this season, doing a little bit of everything for coach Justin Clifford.
Madzia averaged 14.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game for the Huskies.
He was named to the All-Eastern District, District V, All-OVAC, All-Buckeye 8 and the Times Leader’s All-TL teams.
Brett Phillips
Wheeling Park
Phillips was the engine that made the Patriots go this season. Not afraid of doing the dirty work down low, Phillips averaged a team-high 17.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game this season.
He helped lead Wheeling Park back to the state tournament in Charleston while earning All-State honorable mention and first team All-OVAC honors.
Cole Sperlazza
Brooke
The other half of Brooke’s dynamic duo, Sperlazza averaged 19.5 points and 5.1 assists per game as the Bruins’ point guard in his senior season.
Like Isinghood, Sperlazza also topped 1,000 career points this season while also eclipsing 250 career assists.
His hard work earned him All-State honorable mention and first-team All-OVAC honors.

Small School
Ryan Reasbeck
Wheeling Central, Captain
The Maroon Knights’ senior leader make it look effortless at times this season. His smooth shooting stroke netted him 21.4 points per game while his hustle and court vision generated 8.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
He followed in the footsteps of several Central greats before him and left a legacy all his own, leading the Knights to appearances in the WVSSAC Class AAA state semifinal and OVAC Class 2A championship while garnering first-team All-State and All-OVAC honors.

Trevor Beresford
Cameron, Captain
One of the most feared centers in the entire state, the towering Beresford led the Dragons to multiple program milestones this season. With Beresford in the middle, Cameron won its first OVAC boys’ title in school history and also made a return trip to Charleston, winning their region for the second year in a row.
Individually, Beresford averaged 16.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per night, collecting OVAC Championship MVP, first team All-State and first-team All-OVAC honors. Beresford will continue his playing career at nearby Wheeling University.
Korey Beckett
Shadyside
The Tigers’ go-to-guy averaged 17.9 points, three rebounds, 2.4 assists and two steals a night.
He poured in 56 3-pointers this season, giving him 213 for his career, helping him finished with 1,264 career points.
Beckett was named third team All-Ohio in Division IV, All-Eastern District, All-OVAC and All-MOVL.
Shane Keenan
Toronto
Another imposing big man who exerted his will on opponents all throughout the Ohio Valley this season.
Keenan averaged 19.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.4 rejections a game for Toronto. He also shot 41% on 3-pointers.
His efforts this season earned him special mention All-Ohio and first team All-OVAC honors.
Jaizen Miles
Martins Ferry
This senior was the guy for coach Derek Edwards’s Purple Riders. The four-year player averaged 16.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
His long list of accolades includes third team All-Ohio in Division III, All-Eastern District first team, All-District 12, All-Buckeye 8 and All-OVAC.
He was also a captain of the Times Leader’s All-TL team.
Caleb Murray
Linsly
A deadly 3-point shooter, Murray had full permission from coach Dave Wojick to shoot whenever and from wherever he wanted.
As a result, Murray led the Cadets on offense, scoring at a 16.4 clip while also averaging 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
Murray made the All-OVAC first team and played in the OVAC All Star game.
Caleb Strode
Tyler Consolidated
Nobody filled up the stat sheet quite like Strode did this season.
The senior averaged 21.9 points and 11.1 rebounds, logging 13 double-doubles in the process. Not limited to playing inside, Strode drained 41 3-pointers this season, setting a career-high with 47 points.
He shot 50% from the field and 39% from range en route to being named first team All-State.
Trevor Williamson
Magnolia
No one player was more valuable to his team than Williamson was to the Blue Eagles this season.
The lone senior starter on a young team, Williamson led Magnolia all the way to the state tournament.
He earned first team All-State and All-OVAC honors, averaging 17.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4 assists per game.
Raef Wykes
Linsly
One of the valley’s best play-makers, Wykes dished out a ton of passes this season, averaging 5.4 assists per game.
That along with his 13.2 scoring clip and 4.8 rebounds per night made him a valuable asset for the Cadets.
Following the season, Wykes was named first team All-OVAC and played in the OVAC All-Star game.
