Park Baseball to Host JM in Elimination Game

MORGANTOWN — Wheeling Park jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Wednesday over Morgantown but the Mohigans rallied for three straight runs in the fifth to pull out a 3-2 triumph over the visiting Patriots in a Class AAA Section 1 contest.

Morgantown advances to the sectional final on Friday, while Wheeling Park will host John Marshall today in an elimination game.

Paden City 6, Magnolia 3

PADEN CITY — The Wildcats received a 14-strikeout performance by pitcher Kayden Myers and doubled up Magnolia to eliminate the Blue Eagles in sectional action.

Paden City advances to take on Madonna today in an elimination game.

Myers also supplied a single, a triple and two RBI at the plate. Ashton Little delivered a double and a RBI in the win.

Kaleb Starkey struck out 10 for Magnolia, while Brady DiNardo generated two hits.

Oak Glen 6, Weir 0

NEW MANCHESTER — Lizzie Kell concluded a phenomenal tournament with a complete game no-hitter, striking out 10 batters and ending up a full-count walk in the sixth inning away from a perfect game to lead the Golden Bears to back-to-back sectional titles with a victory over rival Weir.

Sydney Brown homered and singled for Oak Glen.

Steubenville 11, Indian Creek 1

MINGO JUNCTION — Jules King struck out eight and walked none to lead Steubenville over Indian Creek.

She also turned in a pair of hits at the dish.

Arianna Brown removed all doubt with a three-run home run for Big Red.
