Harrison Central Rolls Claymont

UHRICHSVILLE — Harrison Central got the 2022 football season underway by doubling up host Claymont 36-18 Friday night in the “Battle of Tappan Lake.”

Sophomore Mykel Quito had a game to remember as he ran 24 times for 118 yards and scored four touchdowns on two runs of one yard, a three-yard scamper and 16-yard jaunt. He also caught two passes for 82 yards.

Junior Hayden Cassidy only completed five passes but they went for 201 yards. In addition to Quito’s two grabs, Tre Rex had a 54-yard reception and Clayton Vermillion hauled one in for 47. Parker Hutton recorded a 20-yard catch.

Senior Jace Madzia booted a 32-yard field goal and three PATs.

Rex led the Huskies defense with five tackles, including one for lost yardage.

Harrison Central makes its home debut at Wagner Field next Friday as Buckeye Trail visits.
