PADEN CITY — It took longer than they hoped, but the Hundred Hornets finally won their first game under first-year head coach Jason Sleeth Friday, 28-20 over homestanding Paden City.

Freshman quarterback Toby Michael completed 8-of-15 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns for the victorious Hornets. He also ran 11 times for 71 yards.

Classmate Karter Parson ran the ball 15 times for 101 yards and scored three total touchdowns, two on the ground and one through the air. Receiver Brayden Batrug caught two passes for 112 yards and a score.

Joey Baker ran wild for the Wildcats, rushing for 207 yards on 25 carries. He scored on a 45-yard jaunt. Brayden Neff found the endzone twice, finishing with 11 yards on four totes. Baker and Andi Leli had a sack each on defense.

Tyler 44, Buffalo 19

BUFFALO — The Silver Knights came back from their off week and won big on teh road over Buffalo. After going down 13-7 in the first quarter, Tyler scored 37 of the next 43 points for the runaway 44-19 win.

Tailback Sean Winfrey continued his standout season with 169 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He was supported on the ground by Branson Winfrey’s 87 yards and Ty Walton’s 97. As a team, Tyler racked up 380 infantry yards on 52 attempts.

Branson Winfrey also scored on a 46-yard run. Walton finished with over 100 offensive yards, also hauling in a 31-yard reception.

Williamstown 42, Weir 13

WILLIAMSTOWN — The Red Riders struggled to stop Williamstown’s offense in a 42-13 road setback Friday night. Weir fought to make it a 14-13 game in the second quarter, but the Yellowjackets scored the final 28 points of the contest to win.

Jamari Hubbard-Bass ran for a four-yard touchdown and Malachi Stromile followed with a 25-yard scoring pass to Devan Colson to kick off the Riders’ second quarter. Weir ran for 162 yards as a team, Corey Lyons and Stromile gained 55 apiece.
