MOUNDSVILLE - John Marshall swept past Magnolia 25-17, 25-22 and 25-8 in high school volleyball action Tuesday night.
The Monarchs (11-10-3) were led by Kayli Derrow with 10 kills and three blocks. Sybal Willis added five aces, 14 points and nine digs, while Jocelyn Cunningham had 13 assists, 15 points and six digs.

CC Ranked in Region
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The final regular season regional rankings for NCAA Division II men's cross country have been released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). West Liberty remained in the Atlantic Region's seven spot for the fifth straight week.
There has not been a change in the top seven of the Atlantic Region since Week 2's rankings. Eight of the ten teams remained in the same spot from last week, while California (Pa.) entered at eighth and Lock Haven moved from eight to 10. Charleston has been the top-ranked team in the Atlantic Region ever since the preseason.
West Liberty continues preparations for the Mountain East Conference Championships scheduled for Nov. 5 at the Oglebay Resort.

Sweeps Frostburg St.
Frostburg, MD. - As the regular season comes down to its final two weeks, the Wheeling University volleyball team (19-7, 12-1) looked to keep momentum on its side. The Cardinals offense took the lead, with four players finishing with double-digit kills as Wheeling swept Frostburg State 3-0. The Cardinals move to 12-1 in Mountain East Conference play and keep pace with Charleston, which is also 12-1, in the race to host the MEC Tournament.
WLU Volleyball Nets Sweep
PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team completed a season sweep of Alderson Broaddus with a 3-0 win on the road.
The Hilltoppers came out firing and posted a .367 hitting percentage in the opening set on their way to a 25-15 win.
After not trailing in the first set, the Battlers fought back and went up 6-0 to begin set two. West Liberty chipped away and took its first lead of the set (10-9) with a 6-0 run. Alderson Broaddus was quick to answer with a 6-0 spurt of its own to get back in front, 16-11. The Hilltoppers won seven of the next nine rallies, but still couldn't put it away for good. The Battlers gave it one more run and went up 21-20, only to be outscored 5-1 to end the set 25-22 in favor of West Liberty.
The Black and Gold put the foot on the gas, getting up 8-1, early in the third frame and never looked back, earning a match-clinching 25-14 set win.
