Linsly, Cameron Post Baseball Wins; Monroe, Toronto Up In Softball
WHEELING – Andrew Skadra drove in three runs with a pair of singles and Jack Scouvart pitched 3-plus innings of relief as Linsly doubled up visiting Madonna, 6-3, in high school baseball action on Holloway Field.
The Cadets (10-3) also received a single, double and two RBI from Trey Prather. Jaxon Murray singled twice and drove in a run.
Kolton Grishkevich had two singles for the Blue Dons, while Leyland Nagy had an RBI single.
Cameron 16, Magnolia 15
CAMERON — The Dragons outslugged the visiting Blue Devils as they combined 29 hits.
Lance Hartley homered and singled twice in driving in four runs to pace Cameron’s 14-hit attack. Kason Angel singled twice and doubled to plate two runs. Winning pitcher Cole Burkett singled twice and drove in a pair, while Wes Starcher doubled twice.
Brady Kocher homered twice and singled to plate five runs for Magnolia. Hayden Pyles and Frank Loy each had three singles and drove in two.
Spring Mills 15, John Marshall 9
HURRICANE — The Monarchs (6-9) received a single, double and RBI from Alex Wilhelm.
Tyler Stauffer had an RBI single.
Paden City 8, Beallsville 7
BEALLSVILLE – Joey Baker fanned 15 in relief and singled in a run as the Wildcats (10-5) slipped past the Blue Devils.
Garrett Parrish singled twice to drive in two runs for Paden City. Bryson Stackpole had a 2-run single.
Tryson English singled three times and doubled to knock in a run for Beallsville. Thorn Stoffel singled and doubled twice to plate three runs.
Shadyside 3, Frontier 2
SHADYSIDE — The Tigers bounced back from a lop-sided loss at Madonna with an impressive win over invading Frontier on Thursday.
Tyler Stottlemyer was brilliant on the bump with five strikeouts in the complete game.
At the plate, Shadyside was led by Grant Miller, who had a triple, single and drove in two. Anthony Forgacas had two singles and a RBI, while Cole Micker had two singles.
Tyler Consolidated 11,
Ravenswood 1
MIDDLEBOURNE – The Silver Knights (17-4) scored seven times in the bottom of the second in run-ruling the Red Devils.
Ethan Clark drove in four runs with a trio of singles for Tyler Consolidated. Jayden Helmick plated two runs with two singles, while Hayden Brown also singled twice and drove in one.
Ty Walton fanned eight and allowed a pair of harmless singles.
The Silver Knights meet Wheeling Central tonight at 6 in the Matt Boggs Wooden Bat Tournament. River and Madonna are the other semifinal.
Buckeye Local 12, River 11
CONNORVILLE — Jake Berry capped a wild comeback for the Panthers.
His base hit in the bottom of the seventh not only tied the game, but when the Pilots relay went awry, Berry was waved home and scored the winning run.

Monroe Central 4, Waterford 1
WOODSFIELD — Monroe Central scored three times in the fifth and went on to post a victory over invading Waterford Thursday afternoon.
Shyann Baker had a RBI single. Jacey English had a RBI triple and Jauna McElroy also had a RBI double for the Seminoles (7-6).
Toronto 17, Harrison Central 3
TORONTO — Harrison Central scored the first three runs of the game, but it was all Red Knights from there Thursday afternoon en route to a five-inning win.
The Red Knights pounded out 13 hits and Andrea Reeves settled down in the circle after the first inning. Callie Anderson had a triple, single and two RBI, while Ashton Thomas had two singles and two RBI.
Maddy Butler had two singles, while Isabell Yeager had a double and RBI. Lizzy Clelland had two RBI for the Huskies.
Barnesville 4, Buckeye Local 3
BARNESVILLE — The Shamrocks scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to escape with a 4-3 victory against winless Buckeye Local Thursday.
Abigail Johnson was the winner in the circle with five strikeouts. Kylee Powell produced a bulk of the offense with three singles and two RBI. Lilly Welch had two singles and Ellie Thompson had a RBI double.
Madison Roset had two singles for the Panthers, while Tatum Walker had a RBI single.
Bellaire 22, St. Clairsville 8
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — The Big Reds scored their second decisive victory in as many days over struggling St. Clairsville.
Bellaire pounded out 18 hits and took advantage of nine Red Devil errors.
Majestique Jackson came on in relief to earn the pitching win. She also had a home run, single and drove in six.
Sophia Porter, Sydney Rowson, Lizzie McAninch and Rachel Porter all had three RBI in the game.
Sophia Porter had five hits, including three doubles.
Alli Ault a triple, two singles and drove in a run.
Rachel Finnical had two singles and a RBI, while Kesslee Barrera had two singles and two RBI. Lainey Benedict had two RBI.
Steubenville 7, Berne Union 2
STEUBENVILLE — Big Red (8-2) struck for five runs in the bottom of the fifth in defeating the visiting Rockets (7-5).
Jules King fanned 18 and allowed just two singles while walking one. She also singled thrice.
Sagan Smarrella and Sena Smith each singled and doubled, with Smith driving in two and Smarrella one.
