Linsly Captures Two OVAC Boys Tennis Doubles Titles

GLEN DALE -- Linsly grabbed a 1-point lead over Morgantown as the OVAC Tennis Tournament got under way Monday on the John Marshall High School courts with action in boys' doubles.

The Cadets scored 11 points while capturing a pair of championships. The Mohigans finished with 10 points and won the other title.

In No. 1 action, unseeded Pablo Aranguren and Diego Consuegra upset Morgantown's top-seeded tandem of Phillips and Hartley by a 9-7 score.

In No. 2 action, the Cadets duo of Andrew Hoang and Matteo Guzzo, the third seed, defeated Morgantown's top-seeded duo Abbitt and Tian, 9-8, in a third tiebreaker. The No. 3 title went to the Mohigans' Chen and Chnin-Kreiner who rolled past Linsly's unseeded Palmer and Mihajlovic, 8-1.

Action continues all week with boys' singles starting todfay at 8 a.m.

Girls' doubles highlights Wednesday's action, also with an 8 a.m. start.

Girls' singles concludes the week on Thursday.
