STEUBENVILLE -- The annual Jefferson County Relays is a fun event for Big Red head coach Andy Kidwell and his team, getting athletes from the six schools in the county together to compete.
Big Red sweeping both the boys and girls portions of the event as a team and having the high-point winner in each category, as well as a beautiful evening of weather made the 2023 edition that much sweeter for the hosts.
"This is a great event every year to get the local teams together to compete," Kidwell said. "The weather was phenomenal, looking at the times, the times were excellent, so I thought it was just a great evening overall.
"Anytime you compete, you want to win, so it was nice that we were able to hold off a lot of good teams here. Our kids got some high-point awards and it was really tight on both sides, there were a lot of great performances -- not just on our team, but across the board."
