Wheeling Park, Wheeling Central Collect Prep Softball Triumphs

MORGANTOWN — Wheeling Park scored six times in the top of the sixth inning and then held off homestandingMorgantown (9-6) for a 6-4 softball victory Tuesday at ISS Field.

Hannah Seivertson laced three singles and drove in a run for the Patriots (11-5). Faith Randolph and Summer O'Bryant each singled twice and Makiyah Strothers had an RBI.

Amber Thompson went the distance inside the circle. She struck out three, walked a like number and allowed five hits.

Wheeling Central 3, Toronto

TORONTO -The Maroon Knights avenged an earlier loss to the Red Knights as Josie Frizzell struck out 14, walked one and scattered five hits.

Brook Edge paced the winners' 11-hit attack with two doubles and a home run that produced a pair of runs.

Jensen Rine singled and doubled, as did Frizzell. Ava Hanson had a run-scoring single.

Shadyside 8, Monroe Central 6

SHADYSIDE — Rylie Fulton singled three times. Gentry Brown, Mary Smith and Bella Honeywell all had a pair of hits for the Tigers (11-2.

Beallsville 12, River 8

SARDIS -- Beallsville broke into the win column Tuesday afternoon by subduing county-rival River.

Kaylee Hagan had three doubles and three RBI, while Katie Crooks had a single, double and two RBI.

River received two singles, a double and a RBI from Ava Wohnhas. Rylee Knight and Emma Reed each had a RBI double.

Union Local 9, Buckeye Local 7

MORRISTOWN -- Union Local picked up its third win of the season by fending off winless Buckeye Local Tuesday afternoon.

At the plate, Union Local got a double and two RBI from Laken Vinskovich and a RBI double from Alli Kellaway.

Indian Creek 10, St. Clairsville 2

WINTERSVILLE - Indian Creek picked up another win by pounding out 16 hits en route to a 10-2 victory against invading St. Clairsville.

McKenna Scott picked up the win in the circle with seven strikeouts and a walk. She also had a double and two singles.

St. Clairsville 7, East Liverpool 3

EAST LIVERPOOL - The Red Devils bounced back from its first loss by toppling the Potters.

At the plate, four juniors provided the spark. Mason Myers had a single, double and drove in three, while Marcus Bush and Hunter Hoffman each had a RBI single and Braylen Blomquist had a double.

WELLSBURG — The Bruins scored twice in thebottom of the seventh for the win.
