The Chester-Newell Sportsman's Club's first Ohio River catfish tournament for 2023 saw 36 fishermen participate from 3 states. They were lined up to measure 26 fish -- 15 flathead and 11 channel catfish. The lucky draw number for second place was 21. Water temperature at Montgomery Locks was 60.5 degrees. At left, the longest fish was a 33.5-inch flathead caught by Dan Tice of Wellsville. On the right is lucky draw winner Johnnie Fortner of Salem with a 21.125-inch flathead.
