NEW MARTINSVILLE — Wheeling Central improved to 4-2 and snapped a two-game skid with a blanking of the Blue Eagles Thursday evening.
Mariah Ratcliffe led the way for the Knights with two goals. Also finding the back of the net were Ramsay Mansuetto, Kendall Schmitt, Aniah Maltony, Kate Tiu, Madigan Smith, Liadan Smith, Bella Fitzsimmons and Addie Payton.
Assists were credited to Angelina Robrecht (2), Madigan Smith, Faith Zende, Schmitt (2) and Brook Edge. Three different keepers contributed to the shutout. Fitzsimmons, Ratcliffe and Gianna Konkle all saw time with Konkle stopping two shots.

Scoring for the Red Devils was Delaney Florence (2), Bug Yeager, Emma Gasber (3), Ashlynn Lednik (2), Kaylee Shaffer (2), Laney Gardner and McKenna Booth.

University's Landon Spiker claimed medalist honors with a 78. Steubenville's Waylon Hayes shot an 82 for the second-place Big Red.
