Local Roundup: Panthers Continue Strong Start With Victory Over Harrison Central

CONNORVILLE - Don't look now, but the Buckeye Local girls are off to a 2-0 start in girls' basketball action.

Monday night inside the Panthers' Den, the hosts defeated Harrison Central, 54-33.

Brynn McKeever poured in 18 points, which was one more than teammate Pam Kandrach. McKeever drained a trio of treys while Kandrach knocked down eight of 10 free throws. Maddy Roset added eight markers.

Maddie Sedgmer paced the Huskies with nine points. Mikayla Pelegreen chipped in seven.

Monroe Central 62, Shadyside 26

SHADYSIDE - The Seminoles led 25-17 at the half but broke the game wide open with a 23-6 scoring advantage in the third quarter.

Riley Bettinger netted eight of her game-high 17 points in the decisive quarter. Jacey English had four of her 10 in the span, as well. Mayzie Emery added 15 points and five assists.

Bettinger completed a double-double with 11 rebounds and charted three steals.

Macy Hendershot led the Tigers with 11 points, which included three trifectas. Kaci Tsoras finished with six points.
