Monroe Central Seminoles Keep Up Undefeated Start

BARNESVILLE -- The Monroe Central Seminoles stayed undefeated Tuesday with a road win over conference foe Barnesville, 55-48.

Tucker Howell led the 'Noles in scoring with 14 while Chance Allen scored 12 and both Cooper Howell and Lane Demchak scored eight.

Asa Geilinger scored 20 points for Barnesville, while Braedon Willis joined him in double figures with 12.

Both offenses heated up in the second half, but it was Monroe Central whose scoring reached a fever pitch, the Seminoles leading 22-21 at halftime but outsourcing Barnesville 33-27 in the second half.

Monroe Central continues to mount an undefeated streak which has already superceded any start for a Seminoles team going decades into the past.

First-year head coach Mason Lang's squad is now 12-0, and next face Shenandoah at home on Jan. 23. Barnesville falls to 6-7 and next travels to Caldwell on Jan. 19.
