MLB ROUNDUP: Jose Ramirez’s Slump-Busting Home Run Lifts Guardians Over Angels, 4-1

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Jose Ramirez broke an 0-for-19 skid and finished a 10-pitch at-bat with a two-run home run and Josh Naylor also hit a two-run shot to lift Cleveland to a victory over Los Angeles.

Ramirez, a five-time All-Star had been hitless in six consecutive games before connecting on a full-count fastball from Griffin Canning (1-4) in the sixth inning to wipe out a 1-0 deficit. Andres Gimenez singled and Ramirez followed with his sixth home run of the season into the stands in right-center.

Naylor added insurance with his team-leading eighth homer with two outs in the eighth inning off Matt Moore. Naylor's shot came after Ramirez drew a two-out walk.

Carlos Carrasco (2-2) allowed one run and six hits over six innings. Emmanuel Clase pitched a perfect ninth inning for his 10th save in 12 chances.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Eddie Rosario's two-run homer in the seventh inning broke an 8-8 tie and Washington beat Toronto Blue.

After Jesse Winker doubled against Genesis Cabrera (1-1) leading off, Erik Swanson came on and got two outs, but Rosario homered to right center to make it 10-8.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Shohei Ohtani went 4 for 4 with two home runs, and Los Angeles beat Atlanta to sweep the three-game series.

Ohtani launched a hanging curveball from Braves started Max Fried 412 feet over the center field fence for a two-run homer in the first inning. He added a pair of singles in the third and the sixth before leading off the eighth inning with a 464-foot blast off reliever A.J. Minter deep into the left center field bleachers.
