LANCASTER, Ohio -- St. Clairsville Post 159's trip to the American Legion Ohio State Baseball Tournament ended this weekend, as Post 159 took two losses on Saturday after winning their opener on Friday.

St. Clairsville got a strong outing from Brody Saunders, who struck out eight and scattered six hits across 6.2 innings, but Lancaster took a 2-0 lead in the sixth, and a 3-1 lead in the seventh prompting Post 159 to pull Saunders with one out in favor of Dylan Blon who got the final out. St. Clairsville was unable to get the offense going in the bottom of the seventh.
Evan White tallied an RBI in the sixth, scoring Saunders, who had knocked a double to get himself into scoring position.
St. Clairsville mustered four hits against Lancaster's six.
GREENVILLE POST 140 5, ST. CLAIRSVILLE POST 159 4
It was another close loss for St. Clairsville, this one in an elimination game against Greenville. The sixth inning held most of the action Saturday, with Greenville posting four runs in the top of the fourth, only for St. Clairsville to roar back immediately, scoring four of their own in the bottom of the frame.
Rowan Mellott drew a bases-loaded walk and Dylan Blon smacked a two-run double to help St. Clairsville tie the game. Post 159 also scored via an error.
Xavier Matthews stroked an RBI double in the top of the seventh to give Greenville back the lead. There would be no rebuttal from St. Clairsville this time.
Kody Carver started the game for St. Clairsville, surrendering four runs over 5.1 innings pitched, striking out three. Ayden Manning pitched the last 1.2 innings.
Blon and White both doubled for St. Clairsville.
