High School Roundup: Big Red Topples Maroon Knights; Park Scores Win vs. Tigers

STEUBENVILLE - Cole Bowers scored a brace and Hayden Hicks added three assists as Steubenville (10-3-3) ran past Wheeling Central 7-1 in boys' high school soccer action Tuesday night.

Brady Dinovo, Landon Bowers, Tad Loot and Drew Stimpert also scored for Big Red. Bowers, Luke Dinovo, James Devereaux and Cedric Peckins charted assists.

Robby Lucas made five saves. Luca Holt had one.

Grady Mullin scored a goal to keep the Maroon Knights from being blanked. JD Schoolcraft had the helper.

Tino Sperlazza recorded 12 saves in goal.

Wheeling Park 4, Marietta 1

WHEELING PARK - The Patriots (14-3) scored a victory against a high-caliber opponent Tuesday, besting the Tigers (12-2-2) at Wheeling Island Stadium.

Tresz McLeod scored two goals and Rynder McLeod scored one, as did Wilson Hanna. Tresz McLeod also picked up an assist.

Gavin Border collected four saves in goal.

Wheeling Central 9, Harrison Central 1

WHEELING - The Maroon Knights rolled Monday at 16th Street Soccer Field, seven Central players tallying at least one goal in a decisive victory.

Brooke Porter and Seneca Heller each scored two goals for the Maroon. Rylee Wright, Loni Kusic, Elizabeth Steele, Maddie Kirchner and Isabella Brown all also scored.

Brown tallied three assists, Wright tallied two, with Kusic, Heller, Gianna Konkle, Kirchner and Kaila Blatt also tallying assists.

Bella Fitzsimmons had one save in goal. Kirchner had three.

Wheeling Central faces Bethlehem Center from Fredericksburg, PA in its regular-season finale on Saturday. Harrison Central's next game is also its regular-season finale, the Huskies scheduled to host Carrollton on Wednesday.
