WELLSBURG — Two positions in Brooke High School’s athletic department are among matters before the Brooke County Board of Education on Monday.

Jeff Crook, Brooke County superintendent of schools, was asked Thursday about the status of Athletic Director William Garvey and Head Football Coach Casey Goff.

Crook said he couldn’t comment on matters before they are presented to the board.

Garvey has served as athletic director since May. Prior to that, he served as head football coach at Bethany College for nine seasons and assistant football coach there for seven seasons.

Goff was hired earlier this year to head the high school’s football program this fall and also has served as an instructor in the school district’s adult education program.

He came to Brooke after six seasons heading the Division III football program at the College of New Jersey.

The Bruins finished the football season with a 3-7 record.
