NEW MARTINSVILLE – The Magnolia Blue Eagles continued their playoff run Thursday with a four-set triumph over St. Marys in their W.Va. Class A, Region 1, Section 2 final, winning 27-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21.

Jessa Anderson paced the team in total points served with 15, aces with four and digs with 29. The Blue Eagles’ captain also had 19 kills, second on the team Thursday to Sienna McKeever, who finished with 21 kills and 28 digs.

Magnolia libero Aly Stillwagoner likewise had 28 digs. Sidney Knight set up her teammates to the tune of 44 assists. Karli Warder led the team in blocks with three total.

The Blue Eagles had previously defeated Valley in their regional semi final match, sweeping them 25-6, 25-17, 25-10. McKeever led the way with 18 kills, Stillwagoner led with 13 digs, Knight with 35 assists, and Kaylee Williams with 13 total points served.

Magnolia (17-13), next advances to the regional semifinals where they will play Madonna on Nov. 5.
