WHEELING – Linsly’s Brock Kuttie will continue his academic and football careers at Division II University of Findlay. The Oilers are members of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

“It’s a great opportunity for me. I’m super pumped,” Kuttie said after signing his NCAA National Letter of Intent surrounded by family, classmates and friends Wednesday during ceremonies in the lobby of Banes Hall on the Linsly campus. “I can’t wait to get there and start working with the guys. It’s just a matter of time now.”

The 6-5, 270-pound Kuttie, who will play offensive line for the Oilers, started every game his junior and senior seasons for the Cadets.

He said he had other offers from Mercyhurst University and West Virginia University.

“Findlay just fit. The head coach and the offensive coordinator were great to me and I loved that,” Kuttie added. “I’m ready to go.”

Other members of the G-MAC are Hillsdale College, Kentucky Wesleyan, Lake Erie, Ashland, Thomas More, Cedarville, Ohio Dominican, Malone, Walsh, Northwood and Tiffin.

The Oilers will open the 2025 season at home on Saturday, sept. 6 when the University of Indianapolis visits James C. Donnell Stadium.

“It’s always an exciting day to see these guys take their next step in their football journey,” Linsly head football coach and athletic director B.J. Depew said. “Brock has had an outstanding career here at Linsly.”

Depew called Kuttie a Linsly ‘lifer.’

“He’s been with us since he was in the fifth grade. I was teaching fifth grade math at the time, so I’ve seen him grow from that first day here,” Depew noted. “He’s a great young man and Findlay is getting a good one.

“Absolutely a great fit for him,” Depew added. “I think the selling point for him was the head coach and his commitment to offensive line play. The recruiter did an absolutely great job. Brock loved his visit and the place. I think he made the right decision.”

Kuttie resides in Wheeling with his parents, Jerry and Carrie Kuttie, and younger brother, Zack.

Starting at $2.99/week.
