Six Ohio Valley Natives Grab Gold At Special Olympics Games

COLUMBUS – The Belmont County Eagles Special Olympics team was well-represented at the 50th annual Ohio Summer Games recently. A total of 20 members made the trip to the state capital, with six returning as state champions.
Four of the champs came in Bowling, while the other two were in Athletics.
Alan Nation, Lance Marino, Matthew Horvath and Ashlyn Somerville all captured gold at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace, while Eli Simone and Tommie Lindell won their gold medals on the track at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of Ohio State University.
