Beginners through advanced players from public, private, parochial, or home-school settings are welcome to attend.
All sessions will be held at the Wheeling Park Hilltop Tennis Facility (393 Sonneborn) from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Those ages 8 to 12 will attend on Mondays: September 8, 15, 22, and 29. Participants ages 13 to 18 will attend on Wednesdays: September 3, 10, 17, and 24.
Racquets are available for those who need them.
Participants are asked to wear athletic clothing and shoes and to bring water/sport drink.
The program will be coordinated by local professional Jeremy McClelland, who will be assisted by volunteers from the WOTC and local college players.
Sessions will consist of instruction, drills, games, and/or competition.
The online registration link is open at wotennisclub.weebly.com. A USTA information form and $10 fee will need to be completed prior to completion of the registration. Parents/guardians will need to complete a waiver on the first day of each session.
Each session has been capped at 30 participants, so please register ASAP if you plan to attend.
This program is named for its founder Millie Mulhern, who along with her husband Jerry, devoted years to growing youth tennis in the Ohio Valley.
“In their memory, we want to continue to offer this program with the goal of introducing tennis to as many youth as possible,” WOTC President Debbie Pickens said.
