WVSSAC Moving State Baseball Championships To Marshall’s Jack Cook Field

The WVSSAC today announced that Jack Cook Field, on the campus of Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., will serve as the host site for the state baseball championships from 2026 through 2028, with an option for 2029.

The City of Huntington and Marshall University’s successful proposal follows a statewide bid process that invited communities to submit plans for hosting the championship event. The selection was finalized through a vote of the WVSSAC Board of Directors at its most recent meeting.

“We are grateful for the interest shown by communities across West Virginia in hosting the baseball championships,” said WVSSAC Executive Director Wayne Ryan. “The City of Huntington and Marshall University presented a strong proposal, and we’re excited to partner with them to provide a high-quality championship experience for student-athletes, coaches, and fans at a premier facility.

Jack Cook Field is an all-turf facility that opened in 2024 and has a seating capacity of 3,500.

The 2026 State Baseball Tournament will be held June 6-13.

Starting at $2.99/week.
