MORGANTOWN – Redshirt junior No. 23 Ian Bush of the West Virginia University wrestling team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.

Bush (184) earned two wins for WVU as the Mountaineers picked up two Big 12 Conference road victories over the weekend. Bush defeated Arizona State’s Azizbek Fayzullaev by major decision, 13-1, on Jan. 9.

He picked up his third fall of the season as he beat California Baptist’s David Alonso on Jan. 11. Bush is one of four wrestlers on the team with 14 or more wins this season and is second on the team with three falls.

Bush is a graduate of Cameron High School where he was an OVAC Ron Mauck Tournament and W.Va. Class A/AA state champion.
