High School Roundup: Wheeling Park Falls To Top-Ranked George Washington; Mohigans Dispatch John Marshall
CHARLESTON — The George Washington Patriots were pushed to the limit Friday against the Wheeling Park Patriots boys basketball team, but George Washington, ranked No. 1 in Class AAAA by the WVSACA, managed a 60-52 victory over Park, helped by 22 points from Noah Lewis.
JD Williams scored 16 to lead Wheeling Park, while Josh Huffman scored 12. The two combined to hit five 3-pointers.
The game was tied 25-25 at halftime. George Washington led 40-33 after three quarters. George Washington shot 16-24 from the foul line while Wheeling Park shot 5-7.
Morgantown 84, John Marshall 34
MOUNDSVILLE – The visiting Mohigans knocked down 12 three-pointers in routing the Monarchs inside the John Marshall Fieldhouse.
Nate Goins led three Morgantown players in double figures with 17. Max Frey added 15.
Jackson Helms had 14 to pace John Marshall.
Oak Glen 64, Weir 32
NEW MANCHESTER — The Golden Bears opened a 12-4 lead after one quarter thanks to a 10-0 run, then out-scored the Red Riders 21-1 in the second quarter on the way to doubling up their opponents inside the Bears Den.
The huge second quarter pushed the lead to 33-5 at halftime and the Bears, now 8-3, were well on their way.
Gavin Geisse led the way for Oak Glen with 15 points. He was one of 11 different players to score in the win.
Elijah Knisely tallied nine, while Chase Hartung netted seven and Mason Kell, Aiden Dawson and Will Weekley each netted six.
For the Red Riders, Kason Lash led the way with nine points and Teddy Glyptis netted seven.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Hayden Wilhelm and Jusante Wright each scored 13 points and Rylan Walker added 11 as the Panthers defeated the Big Reds at the ECO Center.
Alex Padgett had 15 points for Bellaire. Michael Dippel added 13.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Aidan Caldwell netted 17 points as the Shamrocks topped the Huskies.
Brody McFarland added 10 for Barnesville.
Bryson Kamarec had 14 to lead Harrison Central.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Shenandoah 57, River 33
HANNIBAL – The visiting Zeps received 17 points from Brenna Leach and 14 more from Erica Moore in rolling past the Pilots inside the R.L. Potts Gymnasium.
Carleigh Trinoff led River with a dozen. Zoey Fox added seven. The Pilots failed to score in the fourth quarter.
Cameron 40, West Greene 36
WAYNESBURG — The Dragons picked up a victory outside of the Mountain State on Friday, defeating West Greene from Waynesburg, Pa. to move to 9-4 on the season.
Cameron built a 26-11 lead after the first half, and survived a Pioneers comeback to hold onto the win.
Macey Bertram led Cameron with 13 points, while Kendra Thomas scored 10.
Kendra Tharp led West Greene with 21.
