Nailers Fall To Admirals, Lose Back-To-Back Games for Just the Second Time This Season

NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk Scope Arena hasn’t treated the Wheeling Nailers well in the last two seasons, and on Saturday night, the road team was eager to get out of town.

The Norfolk Admirals scored four times in the third period to defeat the Nailers, 6-3, handing Wheeling back-to-back losses for just the second time all year. Former Pittsburgh Penguins draft pick Chase Yoder led the way for Norfolk with one goal and three assists, while goaltender Isaac Poulter earned his sixth straight victory in goal for the Admirals.

The Nailers got goals from Bogdans Hodass, Connor Lockhart and Randy Hernandez.

Poulter backstopped the win for Norfolk, as he made 21 saves on 24 shots. Pavlenko took the loss for the Nailers, as he gave up six goals on 28 shots.

The Nailers will play their next three games at home. The Reading Royals visit WesBanco Arena at 7:10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with the Fort Wayne Komets coming to town at 4:10 p.m. Sunday.

Starting at $2.99/week.
