Best Named PAC Newcomer For Seventh Time This Season

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Bethany College women’s basketball freshman guard Lindsey Best has been named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week for the seventh time this season.

Best, a Martins Ferry grad and Rayland resident, earns her fifth straight Newcomer of the Week award and her seventh of the year where, last week, she helped lead the Green and White to two conference victories over Chatham and Grove City.

The Bison earned their first season series sweep of Chatham since 2018 with Best’s help as she posted 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting with seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal.

he then scored a career-high 20 points against Grove City, the top team in the PAC North Division, as well as leading the team with five assists, four rebounds, one block, and one steal as the Bison now sit just one game out of clinching a berth in the PAC Tournament.

On the year, Best has appeared in 19 games making 13 starts where she leads the team with 64 assists and is second on the team with 28 steals. She is fourth on the team with 183 points shooting 47.7% from the floor, which is second on the team, for an average of 9.6 points per game.

Best is also third on the team with 96 rebounds and has recorded seven blocks on the year. She earned her six previous Newcomer of the Week accolades on November 10 and December 22 of 2025, and January 12, January 19, January 26, and February 2 of 2026.

The Bison are back in action on Wednesday as they host Waynesburg in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference game at 7:30 p.m. on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.
