WHEELING — Eight individuals from across the tri-state area proved they were tough enough Saturday night as the 45th annual Ohio Valley Toughman Contest came to a conclusion inside WesBanco Arena.

Five of the victors reside in the Ohio Valley — four from Ohio and one from West Virginia. The other three hail from Pennsylvania.

The lone Mountain State victor was Moundsville’s 21-year-old Xavier “The X-Man” Stoneking. The 5-9, 210-pound Cameron native and graduate captured the men’s cruiserweight title with a unanimous three-round decision over fellow Moundsville resident Sean “The Hammer” McNeil.

Bridgeport, Ohio’s, 23-yer-old Kylie “The Tankette” Baker got the finals started with a unanimous decision over Saige “The Savage” Clark of Washington, Pa., in a women’s lightweight bout.

Powhatan Point’s 21-year-old Rylee “Dyna” Knight joined her father, Corey Knight, as a champion when she won the women’s middleweight division. The River High grad sent 19-year-old Kylie “KO” Anderson, of Cadiz, crashing to the mat in the first round and the referee stopped the fight.

East Liverpool’s “Ice Man” Dashawn Schaeffer, 26, earned the men’s welterweight crown with a unanimous nod over 34-year-old Byesville resident “Mad Man” Trevor McFadden.

Liam “The Fluffernutter” McAfoose, a 27-year-old resident of Bergholz, stopped 26-year-old Cameron “The Baconator” Brown, of Byesville, to win the men’s heavyweight title. Brown couldn’t answer the bell for the third round.

“Dangerous” Daelynn Yuvan, a 26-year-old resident of Belle Vernon, Pa., claimed the women’s heavyweight championship with a split decision over Steubenville’s 24-year-old “Daddy’s Girl” Mariah Smith.

Twenty-one-year-old Ryan “:The Hook” Sheets, of West Alexandria, Pa., posted a split decision over “Bad Bad” Leroy “Brown” Steagall in the men’s lightweight division, while John “Mad Man” Booker, of Vandergrift, Pa., won the men’s middleweight jacket with a unanimous decision over Steven “2 Step” Beveridge, of Pleasant, Pa.
