WHEELING — Parkersburg South defeated Wheeling Park in a Patriotic regular season finale Monday at The Palace on the Hill, 61-47.

The Parkersburg South Patriots moved to 16-5 with the victory. The Wheeling Park Patriots end with a 3-18 record.

Brielle Wells led Wheeling Park with 12 points and seven rebounds, both team-highs.

Italy Schroeder scored 10 while Karringtyn Miller scored nine and dished three assists.

Park now turns their attention to the WVSSAC Class AAAA Regional Tournament. The Patriots are the seventh seed in Class AAAA’s North Region, and will host Spring Mills this Friday, Feb. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

The winner of that bout will travel to face two-seeded Martinsburg on March 4 for a spot in the state tournament.
