Workers at WesBanco Arena put together the final touches in preparation for this week’s Mountain East Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments, which will be held Wednesday through Sunday at the arena. The tournaments pit some of the top NCAA Division II teams in West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland against each other for a guaranteed spot in the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament. Among the competitors will be both the West Liberty University and Wheeling University men’s and women’s teams. The West Liberty women open at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday against West Virginia State, the Wheeling women open at 2:30 p.m. Thursday against the University of Charleston, the Wheeling men open at 2:30 p.m. Friday against Concord and the West Liberty men open at 6 p.m. Friday against the winner of Wednesday’s game between Davis & Elkins and Point Park.
