Zeps Sweep MOVL Track Championships
SHADYSIDE — Local athletes ran, leapt and threw their way through the Mid-Ohio Valley Track Championships on Monday at Shadyside’s Fleming Field, with Shenandoah sweeping the team titles on an evening where six new meet records were set, and another was tied.
The Zeps took the boys competition with 202 team points, followed by Caldwell with 98.
Shenandoah’s girls took first with 155 team points, followed by Shadyside with 128.
One meet record was broken on the boys’ side with five on the girls side.
Shadyside’s Jaycob Trigg topped the old meet record in the pole vault, beating a 2022 record of 12 feet with a 13-foot vault.
Among the new records set in girls competition, Shadyside’s Kaci Tsoras broke a pole vault record that she herself set in 2024. She broke her old record of nine feet with a 10-6 showing.
Shadyside’s 4×800 relay team of Aylah Albright, Chloe Meholovitch, Laken Miller and Gabby Kosky finished in 11:41.06 to top a record set last year in 2025 by the Tigers of 11:49.32.
River’s 4×100 relay team got in on the record-breaking action with a time of 52.01. The team of Kara Miller, Ashley Miller, Brayleigh Trifonoff and Carleigh Trifonoff bested a 2024 record by Sheandoah of 52.48.
River’s Brooke Huffman set a new mark in the 300 hurdles, topping the previous record time of 50.74 with a 49.90 mark.
Huffman was a double winner Monday, also taking home the girls 100 hurdles with a time of 16.25.
Finally, Monroe Central’s Mayzie Emery ran the 100-meter dash in 12:94 to break the 2024 record-time of 13.00.
River’s Carleigh Trifonoff claimed gold in the girls long jump with a 16-1.5 leap.
On the boys’ side, River’s 4×100 relay team of Aiden Milhoan, Braden Johnson, Holden Dietrich and Tyler Winkler took the gold with a time of 47.41.
