Post 1 Dominates vs. Zanesville Post 29

WHEELING — Wheeling Post 1 breezed by Zanesville Post 29 at home Saturday, scoring in each of their turns at-bat in an 11-0 victory.

The game was abbreviated to five innings, ending after Post 1 blanked Zanesville in the top of the fifth.

Jake Brown, Erick Blazier and Kayden Knapp combined for the shutout. Brown tossed three innings and struck out five. Blazier and Knapp each pitched one inning. Knapp allowed a single, while Brown and Blazier held Post 29 hitless.

Wheeling tallied seven hits as a team, and also drew seven walks.

Aleks Zanieski doulb ed and singled, while Chris Upton tripled and singled. Both walked to reach a total of three times apiece. Both drove in runs, as did Nolan Yanchak.

Post 1 led 4-0 after the first inning and 7-0 after the second. Dom Fato drew three walks for Post 1, scoring three times.
