SHADYSIDE - Jayden Johnson accounted for 300 yards of total offense and five touchdowns as Shadyside (6-0) remained perfect with a 4-214 shellacking of visiting Shenandoah (4-2) on the artificial surface at Fleming Field.
Johnson, the Tigers' senior signal-caller, completed 6-of-8 passes for 156 yards and four scores while rushing 12 times for 144 stripes and another six-pointer.
Michael Hendershot caught 50- and 22-yard touchdown passes. Trenton Marling and Jaycob Trigg also had TD catches.
Hunter Ramsay booted six PATs.
Shadyside travels south on Ohio 7 to Hannibal next Friday to battle River at Martin Flannery Field in a battle of state-ranked undefeated squads.
Wheeling Central 21, Monroe Central 14
WOODSFIELD - In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, the Maroon Knights (2-3) earned a huge win over the Seminoles at Monroe Park.
Deadlocked at 7 in the third quarter, Nico Kusic teamed with Brady Ernest on an 81-yard touchdown pass and Dustin Sanner ran in from 2 yards out. Clay Petry was good on all three of his PATs.
Kusic had given Wheeling Central a 7-0 lead with a 35-yard run in the first quarter and Petry made it 7-0.
Monroe Central answered with a 27 yard pass from Cooper Howell to Corbin Farnsworth and Jett Kaiser's placement knotted things.
After Sanner gave the Maroon Knights a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter, Howell found Max Demchak from 29 yards out and Kaiser made it 21-14.
Sanner finished with 29 carries for 169 yards and Kusic added 65 on 18 carries.
Howell ran 17 times for 57 yards and completed 15 of 24 passes for 190 yards.
Wheeling Central treks to Windber, Pa., next Friday. Monroe Central (3-3) travels to Sarahsville to meet Shenandoah.
John Marshall 27, Parkersburg South 24
MOUNDSVILLE - The Monarchs (4-1) rallied from a 10-0 deficit in the second quarter at Monarch Stadium as Dalton Cooper ran 22 times for 206 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also catching a 45-yard TD pass from Jacob Cisar as the Monarchs kept the Patriots (0-5) winless.
Cisar completed 11 of 16 passes for 136 yards and the aforementioned TD. He also ran for 64 yards and a score.
Landen Snyder caught seven passes for 50 yards.
Linsly 21, Mogadore 20
MOGADORE -- The Cadets came back from a 14-0 halftime deficit to scrape by with a one-point victory and move to .500 on the season at 2-2.
Linsly' Rocco Troullos scored two touchdown runs, both of three yards, and Justin Heckman returned a punt 65 yards for a TD.
Landon Cottrill completed 11 of 16 passes for 187 yards. Heckman was his leading receiver with two catches for 62 yards.
Chris Upton came away with two interceptions for the Cadets, including a pick on Mogadore's final drive to seal the win.
Joaquin Zarur was 3/3 on extra points Friday for Linsly.
Cameron 42, Tucker County 6
HAMBLETON - The Dragons (3-1) made the long journey south worthwhile as Soier Reed threw for two touchdowns and ran for another against the Mountain Lions.
Reed had nine carries for 103 yards and completed 7 of 12 passes for 82 yards and two more scores.
Both of his scoring tosses went to Talen Brown who caught four balls for 54 stripes. Brown also ran the ball eight times for 92 yards and another pair of six-pointers. In addition, Brown also ran for a pair of two-point conversions.
Marshall Holland, who had 68 yards on 11 carries, also found the end zone.
Cameron hosts Bridgeport next Friday.
Brooke 33, Beaver Local 20
CALCUTTA - Using a bruising rushing attack led by Cole Bolen’s 18 carries for 177 yards with three touchdowns coupled with timely takeaways, the Bruins held off a second-half charge by the host Beavers.
It was Brooke’s first win in three tries against the Buckeye 8 opponents. The Bruins had not scored in the first two meetings.
An A.J. Harvey 6-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Kam Sperringer and a Grant Yost 50-yard interception return for a touchdown had the Bruins up 20-6 at the half.
The Bruins essentially landed the knockout blow with Bolen touchdown runs of 62 and 15 yards within the first three minutes of the second half to make it 33-6.
Toronto 40, Edison 25
TORONTO – The Toronto and Edison football teams slugged out for 48 minutes as the two teams traded big play after big play.
It was a one-point game after three quarters, however, the Red Knights tallied two touchdowns in the fourth to pull away for a 40-25 victory against the Wildcats Friday night inside Clarke Hinkle Field.
In games not reported, Bellaire outscored Indian Creek, 37-28, at Nelson Field; Barnesville whalloped visiting Harrison Central, 68-13, at Shamrock Stadium; Bridgeport fell 50-16 at Conotton Valley; Oak Glen kept visiting Buckeye Local winless, 41-14; Ritchie County blanked Magnolia 45-0 and Tyler Consolidated outscored winless Weir, 45-35.
