ST. CLAIRSVILLE - The OVAC Soccer Championships will begin Monday with semifinals on the girls side. The boys semifinals are set for Tuesday. The championships will be contested on Saturday at three different sites.
GIRLS
Beaver Local (Class 5A), St. Clairsville (Class 4A) and Wheeling Central (Class 1A/3A) secured top seeds and will host matches Monday against fourth-seeded teams.
The Beavers (8-1) welcome Steubenville (5-4-2) to East Liverpool, while the Red Devils (10-2) host Oak Glen (7-4) at Red Devil Stadium and the Maroon Knights entertain Shenandoah (5-3) at the J.B. Chambers Memorial Field in East Wheeling.
In other semifinals, No. 2 University (9-1) welcomes No. 3 Wheeling Park in Class 5A; Linsly (6-2-1) hosts No. 3 Cambridge (6-3) in Class 4A; and No. 2 United (8-1-1) entertains No. 3 Columbiana (5-2-1).
The championship matches will be held at 10:30 a.m. with the Class 5A playing at Red Devil Stadium in St. Clairsville. The Class 4A match will be played at Weir High School's Jimmy Carey Stadium, while the Class 1A/3A title tilt will be contested at Wheeling Island Stadium.
In consolation action, schools have the freedom to schedule these by the end of the season by mutual agreement. These games MUST be played as assigned by the committee. It is recommended to play as soon as possible.

BOYS
Beaver Local (9-0-1) earned the top seed in Class 5A and will host No. 4 John Marshall (3-8) in East Liverpool, while Union Local (5-2-2) is the top seed in Class 4A and welcomes No. 4 Oak Glen (5-4) to Jets Stadium in Morristown. Wheeling Central (8-0-2) is the No. 1 seed in Class 1A/3A and entertains No. 4 Shenandoah (5-4) at the J.B. Chambers Memorial Field in East Wheeling.
