CHARLESTON - The Team West Virginia Committee has announced the 4 boys and 4 girls who were named to the 2027 Team West Virginia roster as part of the USGA's U.S. National Development Program.
"All eight athletes selected to represent 2027 team West Virginia have proven their place among the best junior golfers in the state," said team captain Lucas Ware of the West Virginia Golf Association. "The resources that will be provided to these players via the WVGA, USGA and PGA of America will strengthen their games and help them to reach their full potential."
One of the females selected is Wheeling Park freshman Ellie West who won the W.Va. Class AAAA girls state championship earlier this year.
The roster was selected by the Team West Virginia committee based on players' performances throughout the 2026 season. The committee includes representatives from the WVGA and Tri-State Section PGA.
Team West Virginia is one of 50 states in the USNDP's State Junior Team program - designed to expand, strengthen and diversify the American junior golf pipeline. The USGA announced that all 50 states joined the program in October of 2026.
Boys
