Dr. Tony Aprea was the keynote speaker at Wheeling Park High School's 2026 commencement ceremony. A story in the Monday, June 1, edition of The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register misidentified him. Sydney Balcerek received the Scholastic Honor for science and the Dr. Frank Carenbauer Award for Science at Wheeling Central Catholic High School's 2026 commencement ceremony. Due to the information being left out of a release from the school, a story in the Monday, June 1, edition of The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register did not have those awards included.

Happy June, everybody. Today marks the meteorological start of summer, and I’m ready to fire up the grill and head to the pool. However, some people are still stuck trying to sell us in the West Virginia political press that the May 12 Republican primary was a victory for the forces of Gov. Patrick Morrisey and Senate President Randy Smith, R-Preston. I still contend that the GOP primary wasn’t a victory for anyone.
