County Music Stars Bring Fashion to the Stage

You known them by name, by their music, their songs, but how about their fashions?

County music stars at Wednesday CMT Music Awards in Nashville brought their own sense of style to the arena and stage. From the ripped white-washed blue jeans to the sparkling mini dress, they were all there.

Gone are the days when Loretta Lynn took the stage in her long sleeved, ruffled, high-neck, floor-length gowns.

Today, dressed are short or long. Off the shoulder or cut out midriffs ruled the night.

Little Big Town ladies Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild brought their own version of glam to the stage as the group played host at the awards show.

From a demur gown to a stunning sheer white jumpsuit, these two women aren’t afraid to push the fashion envelope.

Then there’s superstar Carrie Underwood. The woman can look fabulous in a pillowcase, but she chose to wear some colorful dresses that showed off the Betty Grable-quality legs.

The only problem during the show was Carrie trying to walk across the stage in her high heels. I understand she may have a fear of falling after a 2017 fall at her home required some hefty medical repairs.

Maybe she should consider a wedge or kitten heel rather than stilettos.

Carrie, a fan favorite, won two prizes at the fan-voted show, including video of the year for “Cry Pretty” and female video of the year for “Love Wins.”

Maren Morris pulled off her glam look in a white mini dress encrusted with crystal and blue stones. The cut-out sides showed off her tan. Nearly every finger on her hands also sported some bling.

Let’s not leave out the men folk. Keith Urban kept his formal wear restrained as always in simple black jeans, T-shirt with cut-outs and his trademark boots. His look, as smooth as his music.

Big winners Dan + Shay, came dressed for some serious stage time. Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney arrived in subdued collar-less shirts under classic sports coat jackets.

Katelyn Jae wore an orange ruffled mini dress that accented her obviously pregnant self. She was accompanied by Kane Brown whose baseball style patterned jacket and T-shirt completed the tattered-jeans ensemble.

Chris Sullivan sported a five button gray jacket with the collar turned up paired over a black shirt and black Stetson. He was seen with an arm around wife Rachel Reichard who wore a one-shoulder shimmering blue number.

Tanya Tucker and Brandi Carlile ditched the dress scene and wore pants outfits that shined as bright at they did when they belted out the classic “Delta Dawn.”
