Siblings Accused of Assault Over Cellphone
Moundsville police arrested David James Wilson and Rachelle Nicole Wilson for allegedly breaking into a home on Second Street, assaulting several people and demanding a cellphone.
Siblings David Wilson, 19, and Rachelle Wilson, 18, both of 57 Oak Ave., were held Thursday in the Northern Regional Jail. Bond was set at $10,000 and $5,000, respectively.
According to court documents, one of the alleged victims, Nancy Anderson, said she answered the door at an 807 Second St. apartment on Jan. 19 when Rachelle Wilson struck her and demanded a cellphone she said belonged to her brother.
Anderson reportedly shut the door, but told police David Wilson kicked it open and hit and kicked her in the face when she tried to grab Rachelle Wilson.
Officers observed bruising and swelling around Anderson’s left eye and a small cut on her forehead. She was treated at Reynolds Memorial Hospital the next day for her injuries.
David Wilson then struck a neighbor in the mouth after the man heard the commotion and went downstairs to see what was happening, the complaint states. Anderson’s niece, Lisa Paugh, also told officers David Wilson kicked her in the ribs as she attempted to separate Anderson and the Wilsons, causing bruising that required her to seek medical attention.
David Wilson was charged with burglary, malicious wounding, conspiracy and three counts of battery. Rachelle Wilson was charged with burglary, battery and conspiracy.
A preliminary hearing for David Wilson is set for 9:30 a.m. Feb. 7. A hearing for Rachelle Wilson had not been set as of Thursday.
