DiCarlo's Pizza will be opening a new location in early 2018 in downtown Parkersburg.
The new restaurant at 327 Juliana St. will open in January, said owner Shannon Hartshorn. The new location will allow DiCarlo's to reach customers in Parkersburg and Belpre more effectively.
"We've been looking for some time now to participate in the revitalization of downtown Parkersburg," Hartshorn said.
In July the pizza shop moved from South Gate Shopping Center in Parkersburg to 1403 Grand Central Ave. in Vienna. The new downtown location will allow DiCarlo's to have a presence in Parkersburg once again.
"The Vienna location sees a lot of carryout," Hartshorn said. "We'd like to be a part of the lunch crowd" in Parkersburg.
Hartshorn said the downtown restaurant also will have other advantages. The restaurant also will be within walking distance of downtown events, such as Parkersburg Homecoming and the Point Park Concert Series, she said.
"We love the historic look of the building," she said, adding the new location has nine parking spaces, something unusual for a downtown business. "It's a nice little spot."
Hartshorn said the date of the opening as well as hours of operation have not been determined, but will be announced through advertisements and the store's Facebook page.
