WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital has welcomed Dr. Jamie Etzel to its team of primary care physicians.
Etzel is a primary care specialist and board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. She has been practicing for the past eight years as Etzel Internal Medicine PLLC. She also provides local nursing home and hospice care.
Her practice has been renamed Reynolds Memorial Internal Medicine but will remain in the same location inside Suite 201 of the Marshall County Professional Building at 426 Eighth St., Glen Dale.
"One of Reynolds' strengths is the outstanding primary care it provides to our community," Etzel said. "It's an honor to be a part of this exceptional team of physicians, nurses and staff who work closely together to provide superior care for our patients."
Recently, Etzel was named vice president of physician operations at Reynolds Memorial. In 2016, she joined Reynolds Memorial as a hospitalist; she will continue in that role. Etzel completed her internship and residency at Ohio Valley Medical Center after graduating from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005.
"We believe primary care is the foundation of health care, now, and especially for the future of medicine," said Dr. David Hess, president and CEO of Reynolds Memorial. "We're recruiting exemplary physicians, like Dr. Jamie Etzel, so that patients can receive the highest quality of care without traveling far from home. With the addition of Dr. Etzel to our team, we continue to build the strongest group of providers in the region."
WVU Medicine Reynolds Memorial Hospital is a nonprofit, acute-care community hospital with 90 beds, including a 20-bed skilled nursing unit.
